Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. From my understanding, you cannot mix and match click-to-run with MSI. Hence, the only solution is to install the It truly is amazing to me that a CTR runtime hasn't been made available by now.
MS now has 2 channels to support for Office applications and the CTR doesn't not seem to be a priority, at least not for Access and at least not in this regards. To be fair, the Access community has and is pushing for a CTR runtime version. We keeping our fingers crossed on this! So this issue been around for 3 versions if you count the demo versions of office.
However now that the vast majority of office installs are becoming CTR, then the issue has become more of a challenge to Access developers. So for CTR office , then installing runtime or runtime is the only solution we have.
Right now for a given version of Office we have 6 versions of Access, and if we get a CTR version, then we have 8 versions of Access for a given version of office.
They currently are:. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site. Any image, link, or discussion of nudity. Any behavior that is insulting, rude, vulgar, desecrating, or showing disrespect. I didn't realize that, and it's terrible situation for a developer. Yep, that is correct Dirk. Another knock against using Office CTR! Delays in updates being available think missing images bug for instance No control on which updates are pushed to your applications you accept whatever MS decides is in their your best interest No runtime but you always get the new versions of Office applications.
